Salad leaves in Camel CSA’s veg boxes
Posted on March 12th, 2022 No commentsSpring is on the way and our polytunnel-grown salad leaves are making enormous growth spurts.
Thank goodness also for purple sprouting broccoli at this time of year. It’s a real favourite among all of us. Our own broccoli is still recovering from the hammering it received from Storms Eunice and Franklin, so this week’s offering is is a mix of ours and from the Backway family at Trerair Farm, St Eval.
In all the veg boxes:-
*mixed salad leaves
*kale – curly or Cottagers
*parsnips
purple sprouting broccoli (*Camel CSA / Trerair Farm, St Eval)
cauliflower (Restharrow Farm, Trebetherick)
onions or leeks (Restharrow)
potatoes ‘Wilja’ (Colwith Farm, Lanlivery)Standard veg boxes also have:-
*wild garlic leaves (foraged)
*mung bean sprouts
*daikon (mooli)* = grown to organic principles
