When you join the box scheme you automatically become a member of Camel Community Supported Agriculture, a not-for-profit community interest company. Membership is about far more than getting a fresh, seasonal veg box. It means you support our aims to promote local food, support local vegetable growers and reduce food miles.
As a member, you'll know where your food comes from and have a say in how it's grown. You'll also gain access to friendly advice, training and social events with the chance to make new friends and get involved in healthy outdoor activities.
Camel CSA strongly supports the philosophy that the benefits of our group should be open to everyone in our community. If you're in receipt of means-tested benefits (not tax credits) your box price can be reduced by 25p a week. Please feel free to contact us for further details or advice about this.
I am in receipt of means tested benefits (not including tax credits)
When you become a member of our box scheme, you will be given two free jute vegetable bags. Please ensure an empty bag is available for us to collect when we deliver the next full one. If you intend to collect your box yourself, please make sure you bring an empty one back each time.
These bags are from GoJute, a local firm based in St Austell, which operates to strict ethics. Please return them to us if you decide to leave the scheme for any reason, so we can recycle them.
These hampers making the picking and packing sessions a lot more efficient as well as being very practical and good-looking. They're lined and have sturdy bamboo handles. However, if you prefer to provide your own bag or box this is fine as well.
I would like two FREE jute bags I will provide my own bag or box
Please make sure your veg box payment gets to us by the 1st of the month. For regular orders we ask you to pay by standing order if possible. Standing orders make payment easy and enable us to plan ahead. Please use this option if you can!
I confirm that I will pay for my veg boxes by standing order I confirm that I will pay for my veg boxes by cheque
To set up a standing order, please let your bank know the details below. This can usually be done over the phone or on-line or you can write to your bank if you prefer.
Please use your name as a reference so that your payment can be spotted on our bank statements.
Please send cheques to the address at the bottom of this page. If you are not the account holder, please print your name and address on the back.
We understand that some people get paid on an irregular basis and that setting up a regular standing order or paying by cheque just may not be possible, if you would like to join the scheme but cannot set up a standing order please contact us by email or phone us (01208 812685) to discuss alternative payment methods.
The box scheme is part of the government's Healthy Start scheme which means that if you are in receipt of Healthy Start vouchers, these can be used towards the cost of your produce order with us. Please get in touch with us by email or phone (01208 812685) if you want to use this option to help pay for your order with us.
When we set the prices for the bags (which are worked out annually and averaged out over each month) we assume that everyone on the box scheme will go on holiday for 4 weeks each year; and our prices reflect this. If we didn't do this, prices would be higher.
If you go away for just 4 weeks a year, then you won't be paying for the produce that you are not receiving. If you go for away for longer than 4 weeks, and you let us know in advance, we can refund you for each week over the standard 4 weeks that you do not want your bags.
Please let us know whenever you go away - by the Monday of the week preceding your holiday - so we don't waste produce. We are not able to accept any later cancellations. Or, if you wish, you may arrange for a friend or neighbour to collect or have your bags delivered while you're away and try the box scheme for themselves. If you do this, you don't need to let us know.
Click the box to indicate that you have read understood and accept the holiday policy and will let us know by the Monday before you go away.
