Volunteering at Camel CSA
We’d love to welcome you to join in any of the activities at Treraven Farm. Whether it’s for an hour or two a week, or half a day, come and enjoy the companionship of others; working, learning and growing together. We’re on site on Thursday and Friday mornings.

You don’t have to be member to get involved, or to commit to regular working hours – just let us know on our Whatsapp group earlier in the week whether we can expect you.

No previous experience is necessary. We provide the tools and equipment, and there’s always an expert grower on hand to give advice and guidance. Simply wear stout shoes and come dressed for the weather!

Volunteer days

There are always a variety of jobs to do including sowing seeds, bed preparation, planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, making and spreading compost, mowing grass, packing bags and general maintenance.

If you like getting your hands in the soil and wish to get stuck into growing and harvesting vegetables, come and join us on:

• Thursdays 09.30-13.00 (or until 16.00 if you wish to stay longer)
• Fridays 09.00-12.30

We also have occasional volunteer days at the weekends like hay raking, apple pressing and even a jolly Wassail in January!

Vulnerable adults

We welcome vulnerable adults and young people who want to share in the growing experience. Some come to us via local charities and support agencies. Others arrange to take part on an independent basis.

Other ways to volunteer

There are plenty of admin and back office jobs that need volunteer input as well, both big and small. Admin and back office work is flexible and by arrangement.

If you’re a Camel CSA member you can also stand for election to the core management group at our AGM. You automatically become a member when you subscribe to our vegetable bag scheme or become a regular volunteer.
