Volunteering at Camel CSA
People power drives our community growing enterprise. Volunteering is at the heart of our success.

We welcome anyone who wants to join in any of the activities on our site at Treraven Farm, Wadebridge. It’s an opportunity to join a friendly team, keep active, meet like-minded people and learn some new skills.

You don’t have to be a member of Camel CSA to get involved. You needn’t come every week and you can come for as long or as short as you like.

Please complete this short request form to register your interest in volunteering. We’ll get back to you and arrange for you to come for a taster session.

No previous experience is necessary. We provide the tools and equipment, and there is always an expert grower on hand to provide advice and guidance. Simply wear stout shoes and come dressed for the weather!

Volunteer days
There are always a variety of jobs to do including sowing seeds, bed preparation, planting, watering, weeding, harvesting and making and spreading compost.

If you like getting your hands dirty and wish to get stuck into growing and harvesting the vegetables:

  • Thursday 09.00-16.00
  • Friday 09.00-12.00

If you’d like to take part in harvesting, sorting, weighing and packing:

  • Friday 09.00-12.00

Admin / back office work: flexible, by arrangement

Vulnerable adults
We also welcome vulnerable adults and young people who want to share in the growing experience. Some come to us via local charities and support agencies. Others arrange to take part on an independent basis.

Other ways to volunteer
There are all kinds of volunteering activities available. Not all of them are sowing, planting, watering, weeding, harvesting and spreading compost! There are plenty of admin and ‘back office’ jobs that need volunteer input – both big and small.

If you’re a Camel CSA member you can also stand for election to the core management group at our AGM. You automatically become a member when you subscribe to our vegetable box scheme or become a regular volunteer.
