We’ve all heard of sprouting broccoli but have you ever tried sprouting cavolo nero (Tuscan kale)? It produces incredibly tender shoots in early spring and we’ve all got some in our veg shares this week. They’re delicious either steamed or stir fried.

What’s in all the veg boxes: –
*sprouting cavelo nero or purple sprouting broccoli
*spring onions
*mixed winter salad leaves or mixed stir fry leaves
*sprouted mung beans
*kohlrabi or *turnips (Camel CSA) or swede ((Restharrow Farm, Trebetherick)
cauliflower (Trerair Farm, St Eval)
potatoes ‘Wilja’ (Colwith Farm, Lanlivery)

Standard boxes also have:-
*leeks
*jar of Camel CSA green tomato chutney
beetroot (Restharrow)

*= grown to organic principles.  Please wash all produce thoroughly
