Spring is coming as we harvest the late winter vegetables
March 7, 2021
At this time of year we’re eating our way through the last of the over-wintered crops like leeks, kalettes, onions, parsnips, purple-sprouting broccoli and different types of kale. Now the weather’s warmer and days lighter we can also look forward to indoor veg like salad leaves, spring onions, chard, spinach and radishes.
Other vegetables like spring greens, baby beetroot and carrots won’t be ready to harvest for a few weeks yet. Our growers are working flat out at the start of the new season to prepare the outdoor veg beds, sow seeds and nurture our early spring crops in the polytunnels. So please be patient!
