Well, we have had some fun in this unusually cold weather! The leeks are frozen into the ground, the kale didn’t thaw out till midday and the polytunnel temperature plummeted to -5C one night.
It means this week’s veg list has undergone quite a few last-minute revisions. Fortunately our friends the Hore family at Restharrow Farm in Trebetherick on the Camel estuary have been able to supply us with the first of the purple sprouting broccoli crop this week as well as some celery for the standard boxes.

*mixed winter salad leaves

Camel CSA coronavirus contingency plan v4
Camel CSA has taken action to minimise the risks to our members, staff growers and volunteers from the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. We’re continuing to produce a regular supply of seasonal local food for our veg box members.
We are currently experiencing very high demand and Camel CSA’s subscription list is full. If you’d like to join the waiting list for trial membership please go to our sign-up page.

Our brilliant support team always pitch up on veg box Fridays – even when it’s stormy! Growers Mark, Bridget and Jane filled 70 bumper Christmas boxes assisted by volunteer picking and packing team Alex, Charlotte, Claire, Dan, David, Jane, Kate and Nat.
Then lead grower Mark braved the flooded lanes in his electric van.
