We’re now entering the hungry gap – that time of year when overwintered crops like onions, kale and sprouting broccoli are ending and the new season’s vegetables aren’t yet ready to harvest. Fortunately some of our polytunnel-grown ‘catch crops’ like radishes and spring onions are ready.
Our expert growers and volunteers are working hard to ensure that the veg boxes remain full of good quality vegetables cultivated by us and other carefully-selected Cornish producers. That means no heated greenhouse crops and absolutely no imports!
In all this week’s veg boxes:-
*rainbow chard
*rhubarb
purple sprouting broccoli (*Camel CSA / Trerair Farm, St Eval)
cauliflower (Trerair)
swede (Trerair)

Our growers and volunteers have been mending fences and repairing torn polytunnel covers in the wake of Storm Eunice and Storm Franklin. After a nerve-wracking few days we’re fortunate the damage wasn’t much, much worse.
Our hearts go out to growers across the country who’ve suffered extensive damage to crops and infrastructure.
